Financial Assistance

ABCs and 123s focuses on providing compassionate childcare services for all of our families. By participating in state funded programs, we are able to extend our reach to all children. Financial assistance is available for those families that may experience challenges in finding affordable, quality childcare. State funded programs such as Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) and On My Way Pre-K are two programs that we participate in to provide high quality, effective education to all families.

Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF)

CCDF is a program that allows low-income families obtain childcare in order to work or attend trainings and higher education. The primary purpose is to increase availability, affordability, and quality of childcare to all families.

How Do I Qualify?

To qualify for CCDF, applicants must meet financial and non-financial criteria. Non-financial requirements include being a resident of Indiana, working and/or going to school,  citizenship of the child receiving CCDF, and choosing a CCDF eligible provider. Children can qualify up to age 13; special needs children may qualify up to the age of 18.

How Do I Apply?

Will I Be Responsible for a Copay?

A copay may be required if the household income exceeds the federal poverty guidelines. If the household income exceeds the federal poverty level, the individual will have a copay that is payable directly to the childcare provider.

On My Way Pre-K

On My Way Pre-k provides grants to low-income families so that their children can have access to high-quality, compassionate pre-K programs the year before they begin kindergarten. This is Indiana’s first state funded pre-kindergarten program.

How Do I Qualify?

To be eligible for the On My Way Pre-K grant, the child must be 4 years old, but not yet 5 years old by August 1 of the grant year and must be entering kindergarten during the following school year.

To be eligible for the On My Way Pre-K grant, a family’s gross monthly income must fall below 127% of the federal poverty level. Financial requirements can be found here.

What is an On My Way Pre-K Provider?

Families who receive the On My Way Pre-K grant can choose from any approved provider. On My Way Pre-K programs have demonstrated a commitment to high-quality early education and are found in a variety of public and private schools, licensed centers and homes, and faith based registered ministries. All programs must be Child Care and Development Fund eligibility requirements including:

  • Community-based programs rated at Level 3 or Level 4 on Paths to QUALITY.
  • Public schools including charter schools must be rated Level 3 or Level 4 on Paths to QUALITY.
  • Private or nonpublic schools must be accredited by a regionally or nationally approved state board of education accrediting body.
